(YEAR 2016 - 2017)


ELIGIBILITY & REGISTRATION: ALL FULL TIME FINAL SEMESTER STUDENTS OF MACERC ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS FOR PLACEMENTS THROUGH THE TRAINING AND PLACEMENT (T&P) CELL EXCEPT THOSE: STUDENTS WHO ARE INDUSTRY SPONSORED. STUDENTS HAVING FAILED / BACKLOG(S) IN BEFORE ENTERING FINAL SEMESTER & WHO HAVE NOT COMPLETED >70% ATTENDANCE. STUDENTS WHO ARE LEGAL/AMBIGUOUS/WRONG/FRAUDULENT/MISLEADING, FINANCIAL AND DISCIPLINARY DEFAULTERS. STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT SUBMITTED REQUIRED DOCUMENTS AS PER TPC INSTRUCTIONS. STUDENTS WHO HAVE NOT REGISTERED THEMSELVES AT TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL. ALL STUDENTS ELIGIBLE FOR ON-CAMPUS JOBS HAVE TO REGISTER THEMSELVES WITH T&P.

MASTER CV AND VERIFICATION: THE ELIGIBLE STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO FILL IN THE TPC MASTER CV & ALSO UPLOAD THEIR PHOTOGRAPH. IT IS EXPECTED THAT A STUDENT SHALL NOT ADD ANY AMBIGUOUS/WRONG/FRAUDULENT/MISLEADING INFORMATION IN RESUME. RESUME CHECKS WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE PLACEMENT PROCESS. IF, ON VERIFICATION, ANY DISCREPANCIES ARE FOUND, THE STUDENT WOULD BE DE-BARRED FROM PLACEMENTS. THIS MAY ALSO ATTRACT STRICT DISCIPLINARY ACTION.

PLACEMENT PROCEDURE: 1. AT THE BEGINNING OF THE ACADEMIC CALENDAR, STUDENTS WILL BE SUBJECTED TO APTITUDE TESTS OR COUNSELED TO CHALK OUT THEIR CAREER PLAN- WHETHER TO PURSUE HIGHER EDUCATION OR TO SEEK AN EMPLOYMENT. 2. THE STUDENTS WHO WISH TO APPLY TO A PARTICULAR COMPANY/ORGANIZATION ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THEIR WILLINGNESS TO THE TRAINING AND PLACEMENT OFFICE BEFORE THE SPECIFIED DEADLINE. NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ENTERTAINED UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. IT IS OBLIGATORY ON THE PART OF THESE STUDENTS TO ATTEND THE INTERVIEWS. 3. THE INSTITUTE WILL PROVIDE DIGITAL PROJECTION FACILITIES, ROOMS FOR PRESENTATION, TESTS (ONLINE/OFFLINE) AND INTERVIEWS ETC. 4. A TEAM OF DEDICATED PLACEMENT COMMITTEE VOLUNTEERS WILL ENSURE SIMPLER LOGISTICS AND ALL OTHER RELATED ISSUES. 5. THE TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL INVITES PROSPECTIVE ORGANIZATIONS/INDUSTRIES/COMPANIES EVERY ACADEMIC CALENDAR, ALONG WITH ALL RELEVANT INFORMATION TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CAMPUS RECRUITMENT DRIVES. THE ORGANIZATIONS/INDUSTRIES/COMPANIES/COLLEGES IN TURN, CAN ALSO CONTACT THE UNIVERSITY TPC FOR THEIR RECRUITMENT DRIVES. 6. THE DETAILS OF THE RESPECTIVE FINAL SEMESTER STUDENTS OPTING FOR PLACEMENT WELL BE SENT TO THE COMPANY/ORGANIZATION CONCERNED, AS PER THEIR REQUIREMENT, ALONG WITH A TENTATIVE, MUTUALLY CONVENIENT DATE FOR THE CAMPUS INTERVIEWS. 7. THE COMPANY/ORGANIZATION MAY CONFIRM THE DATE OR DISCUSS A MUTUALLY CONVENIENT DATE, WITH THE COORDINATOR-TRAINING AND PLACEMENT. 8. THE ORGANIZATION WILL HAVE AN OPTION TO GO FOR THE CAMPUS RECRUITMENT TO THE CONSTITUENT COLLEGES / INSTITUTIONS/ SCHOOLS / DEPARTMENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY. 9. AFTER CONFIRMATION BY THE ORGANIZATION, A PRE-PLACEMENT TALK (PPT), WILL BE ARRANGED ON THE DATE. THE COMPANY MAY CONDUCT TESTS AND/OR GROUP DISCUSSIONS TO SHORT LIST THE INTERESTED STUDENTS. IF REQUIRED, TELEPHONIC INTERVIEWS OR INTERVIEWS THROUGH VIDEO CONFERENCING CAN BE ARRANGED. 10. THE ORGANIZATION WILL THEN INTERVIEW THE SHORT LISTED STUDENTS FOR FINAL SELECTION & WILL ANNOUNCE THE RESULTS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, ONCE THE SELECTION PROCESS IS OVER. 11. ORGANIZATION ANNOUNCING RESULTS IMMEDIATELY AFTER INTERVIEWS WILL BE PREFERRED BY THE COLLEGE AND THE STUDENTS FOR EARLY CAMPUS INTERVIEW DATES DURING THE NEXT ACADEMIC YEAR. 12. THE ORGANIZATION THAT IS UNABLE TO FINALIZE THE RESULTS ON THE SAME DAY AND WISH TO HAVE ONE MORE ROUNDS OF INTERVIEWS AT THEIR OFFICE MAY DO SO AS PER THEIR REQUIREMENT. 13. LODGING AND BOARDING COST FOR ATTENDING THE INTERVIEW SHALL BE BEAR BY THE STUDENTS ONLY. 14. THE STUDENTS SELECTED THROUGH CAMPUS INTERVIEW WILL COMPLETE ALL THE NECESSARY FORMALITIES (E.G. MEDICAL TEST ETC) ASKED BY THE EMPLOYER AND WILL JOIN THE ORGANIZATION WITHIN STIPULATED TIME FRAME. 15. HE/ SHE WILL KEEP THE TPC UPDATE REGARDING HIS/ HER PROGRESS IN THE ORGANIZATION. T & P CELL, IN TURN, WILL OBTAIN REGULAR FEEDBACK FROM THE EMPLOYER REGARDING THE PERFORMANCE OF SELECTED STUDENTS.

PRE PLACEMENT OFFERS: ALL PRE PLACEMENT OFFERS EXTENDED TO ANY STUDENT HAVE TO BE ROUTED THROUGH THE PLACEMENT CELL. IF ONE LIKES THE OFFER, ONE IS ADVISED TO ACCEPT THE OFFER. SUCH STUDENTS WHO ACCEPT THE PPO WOULD, HOWEVER, BE DEREGISTERED FROM THE ON-CAMPUS PLACEMENT PROCESS.

APPLICATION RULES: ALL APPLICATIONS TO THE COMPANIES ARE TO BE MADE ONLY THROUGH TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL THE COLLEGE. IF A STUDENT DOES NOT APPLY THROUGH TPC FOR A PARTICULAR COMPANY, HE/SHE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE SELECTION PROCESS OF THAT COMPANY. STUDENTS CAN APPLY TO ANY NUMBER OF COMPANIES STARTING FROM JANUARY.

RULES OF WITHDRAWING AN APPLICATION: THE STUDENT MAY WITHDRAW HIS/HER APPLICATION FROM A COMPANY ON CAMPUS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING RULES AND REGULATIONS: THE STUDENT CAN WITHDRAW HIS/HER APPLICATION TO A COMPANY ONLY IF THE LAST DATE OF APPLICATION TO THAT PARTICULAR COMPANY IS NOT OVER. THERE CAN BE NO WITHDRAWALS AFTER THIS DATE. THE STUDENT MAY WITHDRAW FROM ANY OR ALL COMPANIES WITHOUT ANY LIMITS, BUT ONLY BEFORE THE LAST DATE OF APPLICATION TO COMPANY/IES CONCERNED. THE STUDENT MAY ALSO REAPPLY TO A COMPANY THAT HE/SHE HAD EARLIER WITHDRAWN FROM, PROVIDED APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR THE COMPANY IS NOT OVER. AFTER THE LAST DATE OF APPLICATION ALL RULES AND REGULATIONS (INCLUDING ABSENTEEISM PENALTY) MENTIONED IN THE SECTION 'SELECTION PROCESS' WILL BE APPLICABLE.

SELECTION PROCESS: TPC WILL FOLLOW “OSOJ” PATTERN. WHICH MEANS ONE STUDENT IS ALLOWED TO SECURE ONLY ONE JOB. AS MORE THAN ONE COMPANY WOULD BE VISITING THE CAMPUS, THERE MAY BE A POSSIBILITY THAT ONE STUDENT SECURES MORE THAN ONE JOB ON THE SAME DAY. THEREFORE, IT IS THEREFORE ADVISED THAT ONE MUST REGISTER THEIR PREFERENCE ASAP. EACH ELIGIBLE STUDENT WILL BE REQUIRED TO FILL UP HIS/HER INDIVIDUAL PREFERENCES IN ADVANCE FOR EACH PLACEMENT DAY, RANKING THE COMPANIES HE/SHE HAS APPLIED TO/ HAS BEEN SHORTLISTED ON A PARTICULAR DAY, IN THE DESCENDING ORDER OF HIS/HER CHOICE. THE PREFERENCES ARE EDITABLE TILL A DAY BEFORE BY 23:59 HRS.

THESE PREFERENCES SHALL BE USED IN CASE: THE STUDENT GETS SELECTED IN MORE THAN ONE COMPANY ON THE SAME PLACEMENT DAY. A COMPANY WANTS TO MAKE AN ON-THE-SPOT OFFER TO THE STUDENT BEFORE THE SELECTION PROCEDURE FOR THE DAY IS OVER. IN CASE A STUDENT GETS SELECTED IN 2 OR MORE COMPANIES ON THE SAME DAY, THEN THE COMPANY RANKED HIGHER IN THE PREFERENCE ORDER OF THE STUDENT WILL BE THE ONE WHERE THE STUDENT WOULD BE FINALLY CONSIDERED PLACED. IN CASE A COMPANY DECIDES TO OFFER THE STUDENT AN ON-THE-SPOT JOB OFFER BEFORE THE ENTIRE PLACEMENT PROCESS FOR THAT DAY IS OVER THEN HE/SHE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO APPEAR FURTHER FOR THE PLACEMENT PROCESS OF THE OTHER COMPANIES WHICH WERE RANKED LOWER IN PREFERENCE THAN THE COMPANY THAT MADE ON-THE-SPOT OFFER. THE STUDENT WILL, HOWEVER, BE ALLOWED TO APPEAR IN SUCH COMPANY/IES, WHICH WERE HIGHER IN PREFERENCE ORDER THAN THE ONE WHICH OFFERED THE JOB. IN CASE A STUDENT DOES NOT FILL THE PREFERENCE ORDER FOR A PLACEMENT DAY, THEN THE ALLOTMENT WILL BE DOWN AND HE/SHE WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO CONTINUE TO APPEAR FOR THE PLACEMENT PROCESS OF THE OTHER COMPANIES. IT IS THEREFORE ADVISED THAT ONE MUST REGISTER THEIR PREFERENCE ASAP. IN CASE A COMPANY DOES NOT GIVE ITS FINAL SELECTION LIST ON THE SAME DAY IT VISITS THE CAMPUS, THEN THE STUDENTS WILL BE ALLOWED TO APPEAR IN OTHER COMPANIES VISITING ON SUBSEQUENT DAYS TILL THEY FINALLY GET SELECTED. HOWEVER, IF A STUDENT HAS ALREADY BEEN SELECTED BY A COMPANY THAT CAME ON THE SUBSEQUENT DAY & THE COMPANY THAT DEFERRED ITS DECISION ALSO MAKES AN OFFER TO HIM/HER LATER ON, THEN: IN CASE MORE THAN ONE RESULT OF SELECTED STUDENT(S) COMES ON THE SAME DAY, THEN THE STUDENT WILL BE GIVEN AN OPTION TO CHOOSE BETWEEN COMPANY OF THE PREVIOUS DAY AND THE COMPANY OF THE DAY. IN CASE THE RESULT OF THE COMPANY (WHICH DEFERRED ITS SELECTION PROCESS) GIVES ITS RESULT ON A DAY LATER THAN THE DAY WHEN THE STUDENT WAS SELECTED BY ANOTHER COMPANY, THIS LATE OFFER WILL BE REJECTED AND THE COMPANY WOULD BE INFORMED.

ACCEPTANCE OF OFFERS: SELECTED STUDENT WOULD BE REQUIRED TO ACCEPT THE OFFER WITHIN 24 HOURS OF DECLARATION OF THE RESULT. IN CASE THE OFFER IS NOT ACCEPTED WITHIN 24 HOURS, THE SAME WOULD GET COMMUNICATED TO THE COMPANY. WHETHER ONE ACCEPTS OR DOES NOT, ONE WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE FURTHER. IT IS ADVISED THAT THE STUDENTS ACCEPT THE OFFER IMMEDIATELY.

STUDENT CONDUCT AND DISCIPLINARY POLICY: FOR ABSENTEEISM IN ANY TEST, INTERVIEW OR ANY SELECTION PROCESS WHICH AN APPLICANT HAS TO ATTEND AS PART OF A COMPANY’S RECRUITING PROCEDURE THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM PENAL ACTION WOULD APPLY: ABSENCE OF FIRST TIME FINE OF RS. 1000 ABSENCE OF SECOND TIME FINE OF RS 2000 ABSENCE OF THIRD TIME DEBARRED FROM ON-CAMPUS PLACEMENT RE-REGISTRATION REQUESTS WILL BE ENTERTAINED FROM 10 AM – 01 PM ON WORKING DAYS ONLY. RE-REGISTRATION CAN TAKE UP TO HALF A WORKING DAY AFTER RECEIPT OF THE STAMPED PAYMENT VOUCHER FROM THE BANK. A FINE OF RS. 500/- WOULD BE IMPOSED ON STUDENTS WHO ARE ABSENT IN PRE-REGISTERED PLACEMENT EVENTS. IF FOR WHATEVER REASONS THE STUDENT REMAINS ABSENT FROM ANY STAGE/ROUND OF SELECTION PROCESS HE/SHE WOULD BE IMMEDIATELY DE-REGISTERED FROM TPC AND WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO TAKE PART IN THE PLACEMENTS TILL HE/SHE GETS HIMSELF/HERSELF RE-REGISTERED. IMPERSONATION OR ANY KIND OF MALPRACTICE IS A SERIOUS OFFENCE. SUCH STUDENTS WOULD BE DEREGISTERED IMMEDIATELY & ALSO WILL BE REFERRED FOR A DISCIPLINARY ACTION. A LIST OF COMPANIES COMING ON-CAMPUS FOR RECRUITMENT IS PUT UP ON THE TPC WEBSITE/NOTICE BOARD. STUDENTS MUST NOT APPLY TO ANY OF THESE COMPANIES OFF-CAMPUS, AS UNDER AN ACCORD OF MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE FIRMS AND MACERC; COMPANIES WOULD NOTIFY TPC WHENEVER THEY RECEIVE AN OFF-CAMPUS APPLICATION FROM ANY OF MACERC STUDENTS. IN ALL SUCH CASES SUITABLE ACTION AS PER THE INSTITUTE RULES WOULD BE WOULD BE INITIATED APART FROM THE CANDIDATES BEING DEREGISTERED. STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO APPEAR IN FINAL SELECTION PROCESS (TEST/GD/INTERVIEW ETC) OF COMPANIES THEY HAVE NOT APPLIED TO THROUGH THE TPC SYSTEM OR HAVE NOT BEEN SHORTLISTED IN THOSE COMPANIES. STUDENTS MUST REFRAIN FROM CONTACTING PERSONNEL OF SUCH COMPANIES WHEN THEY ARE ON-CAMPUS. VIOLATION OF THIS WILL ATTRACT DEREGISTRATION AND SUITABLE DISCIPLINARY ACTION.

GENERAL ADVICE: TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL DOES NOT GUARANTEE A JOB TO ANY STUDENTS. THE PLACEMENT FACILITY IS AVAILABLE TO ALL THE STUDENTS REGISTERED WITH TRAINING & PLACEMENT CELL. IT IS EXPECTED THAT THE STUDENTS WILL BE VIGILANT AND RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ANY DISQUALIFICATIONS. REGISTRATION FOR CAMPUS DRIVES WILL BE DONE BY THE AUTHORIZED TPC MEMBER ONLY AND THE STUDENTS SHOULD NOT SUBMIT THEIR SOFT CV DIRECTLY TO THE TPC. FOR ANY QUERIES/PROBLEMS, THE STUDENTS SHOULD FIRST DISCUSS WITH THEIR OWN DEPARTMENTAL FACULTY, AND THEN DELIBERATE THE SAME WITH THE TPC. STUDENT SHOULD STRICTLY FOLLOW THIS. COLLEGE UNIFORM IS MANDATORY FOR STUDENTS TO BE PRESENT IN THE CAMPUS RECRUITMENT DRIVES, FAILING WHICH STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO SEAT FOR CAMPUS INTERVIEW. STUDENTS MUST CARRY THEIR VALID I-CARDS AT ALL TIMES DURING INTERVIEWS & SCREENING TESTS. NO ONE WOULD BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE TEST/INTERVIEW VENUE WITHOUT THE VALID I-CARD. THE DATE/TIME/VENUE OF THE INTERVIEWS WILL BE SUBJECT TO CHANGES WHICH, AT TIMES, MAY BE AT A SHORT NOTICE. STUDENTS MUST KEEP THEMSELVES WELL INFORMED BY VISITING THE TPC OFFICE. STUDENTS MUST CARRY A COMPLETE FILE WITH A FEW COPIES OF TPC RESUME ONLY, ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES (IF POSSIBLE) AND COPIES THEREOF WHILE APPEARING FOR THE INTERVIEWS. ALL COMPANIES WHICH TAKE STUDENTS FOR SUMMER INTERNSHIPS WILL BE ASKED IN ADVANCE ABOUT ANY PRE PLACEMENT OFFERS THEY HAVE EXTENDED. THE STUDENT WILL BE GIVEN A CHOICE TO ACCEPT OR REJECT THE OFFER TILL ONE DAY BEFORE THE START OF THE PLACEMENT SEASON. IN CASES THE STUDENT ACCEPTS IT; THE PPO WOULD BE TREATED EQUIVALENT TO SECURING A JOB THROUGH THE PLACEMENT CELL. STUDENTS SHALL PARTICIPATE IN ALL TRAINING ACTIVITIES AS SUGGESTED BY THE FACULTY AND TPC. THIS IN TURNS WILL ENHANCE THE STUDENT EMPLOYABILITY. THE POLICY IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY STAGE ON THE DISCRETION OF THE TPC ONLY. THE CHANGES MADE, IF ANY WILL BE NOTIFIED.
